Is it time to update your website?

Is it time to update your website?

I can honestly say that I've had this conversation often with tradespeople.

The issue with trades and contractors not being receptive to digital marketing and the importance of it to grow your business, I think, has a lot to do with the following scenario:

In the late 90s/early 2000s, the internet boomed into something much bigger than most thought it would. Google began to gain traction and become the hub of what many know today as their first port of call when searching for anything online.

Trades were told - Get a website, you need one, everyone is doing it, etc.
Business owners invested, some at no small cost, into a website for their company, and in many cases, that was the extent of it.
So many companies in construction have ancient and outdated websites that they paid through the nose for years ago, and as far as they are concerned, they have seen no return on their investment; none of their work comes through the website, so they automatically think that there's no point in continuing with it, after all, they still gain work via word of mouth so what's the point? It just sits, costing money for hosting and email, and that's that.

If this sounds like your situation, rest assured you are not alone! This happened to many companies; some have been receptive to furthering their journey into the digital domain, while others have given up on it.

In today's digital age, online presence is crucial for thriving businesses. Your website serves as your digital storefront and is often the first point of contact between potential customers and your brand. If your website isn't up to par, it can negatively impact your business's success. In this blog post, we'll explore why it might be time to update your company's website.

Outdated Design:

The appearance of your website plays a significant role in how users perceive your brand. If your website has an outdated design, it might create a negative impression of your company, making users less likely to engage with your brand. Updating your website's design can give it a fresh look, making it more appealing to users and improving their experience on your site.

Poor Navigation:

Users might get frustrated and leave if your website is challenging to navigate. Ensuring your website's navigation is clear and easy to use is crucial. A well-organized website with clear labels and a logical layout can help users find what they're looking for quickly, increasing their chances of staying on your site for longer.

Slow Loading Speeds:

It's crucial to ensure that your website's loading speeds are optimized to provide a seamless experience for users. In today's fast-paced world, users expect websites to load quickly. If your website takes too long to load, users will likely lose interest and move on to another site.

Not Mobile-Friendly:

With most internet users accessing the web from their mobile devices, having a mobile-friendly website is crucial. If your website is not optimized for mobile devices, it might not display correctly, and users might have difficulty navigating it. Having a mobile-friendly website can improve your website's usability, making it more accessible to users on the go.

Low Search Engine Rankings:

Search engine optimization (SEO) is crucial for any website to rank higher in search engine results. If your website's SEO is not up to par, it might not rank high enough in search engine results, making it difficult for potential customers to find your website. Updating your website's SEO can improve your search engine rankings, making it easier for potential customers to find your site.

Fear not, there is a solution, and we have it! Website development is not the complex and expensive minefield that it once was. If you are interested in growing your business, allowing potential customers to find you quickly and compete with others that do have a sufficient website, then CCBD Group are here to help.
